CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
NEW! Intensive One Day Face to Face 2016/2017 Construction White Card Course!
If you are looking at working in the Construction Industry, or need to update your White Card*, SERO Institute is now offering the New 2016/17 CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry White Card Course.
This Intensive 1 Day, Face to Face course will legitimately allow you to work on Constructions sites anywhere in Australia!
Why do I need a White Card?
If you want to work in Construction, you need a White Card. People who need to hold a white card include; site managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople.
Everyone who undertakes construction work in Australia must have a white card or both they and their employer will face a penalty when caught… and they will be caught. Some worksites even require that ANYONE that steps onto the site has a minimum of White Card training. The steep OHS penalties in Construction are no joke.
What do you mean by 'Legitimately' work?
While a QLD White Card is accepted in all Australian states and territories for entry onto building sites, NSW and Victoria are NO LONGER accepting White Cards that have been COMPLETED ONLINE.
SERO Institute’s Intensive 1 Day, Face to Face CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry White Card Course will gain you a QLD White Card that you can be sure will be accepted anywhere.
I’ve done the white card course before, do I need to update to the New Unit?
Yes and/or No 🙂 *If you have been out of the Industry for 2 years or more your previous white card is no longer considered valid and you need to update.
If you are looking to find work in NSW or Victoria and you have previously undertaken your White Card Online, you will need to undertake a Face to Face Course prior to looking for work in those states. Otherwise, once you have received your white card, it will remain valid while you continue to work in construction.
What is included in the Course?
SERO Institute is approved to deliver the new Nationally Accredited Unit CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. So not only do you get your White Card, you will also receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit.
The course includes vital WHS topics such as, What is ‘reasonably practicable’?, Safe Work Practices and Procedures, Risk Management, WH&S Documentation and Forms including Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS), WHS Personnel, Workplace Signage, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation, Providing Initial Response First Aid, Reporting Hazards, injuries, near misses and incidents as well as Fire Safety Equipment
How will I be assessed?
SERO Institute’s 2016/17 Construction White Card Course is centred around the same idea as a workplace health and safety committee. By sharing information and knowledge in a group, everyone’s awareness of WHS is increased.
Participants are then assessed through a combination of practical exercises, Assessor observation and One on One conversations. As much as possible, SERO Institute uses Real Workplace Examples and Scenarios to give Learners the best possible understanding of what is expected in the workplace.
